# LifeLab Privacy Policy
**Last Updated: June 1, 2026**
Welcome to **LifeLab** ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. LifeLab is designed to be a private-by-default personal experiment lab where you can test ideas, reflect on your habits, and learn what works for you without pressure.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the LifeLab mobile application (the "App") and our related services.
---
## 1. Core Privacy Principle: Private by Default
We believe that your personal growth, reflections, and life experiments are deeply personal. **All experiments, check-ins, notes, and reviews created in LifeLab are private by default.**
* We do not sell your personal data.
* We do not share your private data with third parties for marketing or advertising.
* In the current version of the App (MVP), there are no public profiles, public feeds, or automatic sharing features. Your data remains strictly accessible to you only.
---
## 2. Information We Collect
To provide a fully synchronized experience across your devices, we collect and store the following data:
### A. Account Information
When you create an account, we collect:
* **Authentication Details:** Email address, password, and display name (provided via Firebase Authentication).
* **Sign-In Providers:** If you choose to sign in using Google or Apple, we receive basic profile information (such as your name and email address) permitted by your provider's privacy settings.
### B. Application Data
We store the data you actively input to keep your workspace synchronized:
* **Experiments:** Your experiment questions, categories, durations, hypotheses, minimum baselines, and learning criteria.
* **Check-Ins:** Your daily/scheduled check-ins, including mood indicators, energy ratings, and raw daily reflection notes.
* **Reviews:** Your final reflection answers, learning summaries, and trade-off assessments.
* **Custom Templates:** Any custom templates you design or customize.
### C. Technical and Usage Data
* **Diagnostics & Performance:** We may collect anonymous crash reports and performance diagnostics (such as via Firebase Crashlytics) to debug and improve app stability.
* **Subscription Details:** If you purchase a LifeLab Pro subscription, transaction processing is handled securely through Apple's App Store and/or RevenueCat. We do not store your credit card or financial details.
---
## 3. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information solely for the following purposes:
* **To Provide the Service:** Syncing your experiments and check-ins securely across your devices.
* **To Generate Local Insights:** Processing your check-in history to show you personal patterns (e.g., consistency curves and weekday activity levels) in the Insights dashboard.
* **To Support AI Suggestions:** When you request AI suggestions or template personalizations, only the minimal required text (such as your experiment idea) is sent to our stateless AI API.
* **To Maintain Security:** Preventing unauthorized access to your account and data.
---
## 4. AI and Data Processing
LifeLab incorporates smart features to help you design experiments.
* **Stateless Processing:** AI prompts (e.g., generating a hypothesis or a minimal version of a task) are processed statelessly.
* **No Model Training:** Your private experiment questions and check-in notes are never used to train global AI models.
* **No Long-term Memory:** The AI does not store your history unless you explicitly consent to feature integrations that require personalized background memory.
---
## 5. Third-Party Service Providers
We use trusted cloud infrastructure and tools to run LifeLab. These third parties process your data only as directed by us and under strict security obligations:
* **Google Firebase:** Used for authentication (Firebase Auth) and database hosting (Cloud Firestore). Firestore security rules are strictly configured so that only you can access your private data.
* **RevenueCat:** Used for subscription status tracking and verification.
* **AI API Providers:** Used for stateless AI-based experiment planning.
---
## 6. Data Control and Deletion (Your Rights)
You have full control over your data in LifeLab:
* **Modify and Delete:** You can edit or delete individual experiments, check-ins, notes, and reviews at any time directly within the App.
* **Account Deletion:** You can delete your account at any time. In the App, go to **Settings > Delete Account**. Once confirmed, this action is final and will permanently delete:
* Your authentication credentials.
* All associated Firestore database collections (including all your experiments, check-in notes, mood history, and reviews).
---
## 7. Children's Privacy
LifeLab is not directed to individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you become aware that a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can delete the information.
---
## 8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.
